It is divine scripture from allah [exalted is he !] which was revealed to sayyiduna musa [peace be upon him ].it was in the syriac language .it was revealed on th 10th of dhu al-hijjah .the slates on which it was written were made out of peridot .it had 1000 chapters and each chapter comprised of 1000 verses .it had 7 part in total and its length was 10 cubits . when sayyiduna musa [peace be upon him ] came to his people carrying the tawrat/torah,he found them, except a few, to be involved in polytheism. he felt distressed due to this act of theirs. during this incident, when he was going towards sayyiduna harun [peace be upon him ], the slates of the tawrat/torah fell down. allah [exalted is he !] then took back 6 aprts of the tawrat/torah. the children of israel obtained only the remaining parts which had necessary rulings in it. every part of tawrat/torah used to be recited in the duration of a year. it was recited in this duration by none except sayyiduna musa, sayyiduna 'uzayr,and sayyiduna isa [peace be upon him ]. the occasion on which allah [exalted is he !] spoke to sayyiduna musa [peace be upon him ] was the night of friday.
