It is a divine scripture from allah [exalted is he!] which was revealed to sayyiduna dawud [peace be upon him ].it was revealed on the 12th or 18th date of the month of ramadan. it was revealed in the aramaic language. there were 150 chapters in it which contained supplication to allah,his praise, and exaltation. its longest chapter was equal to a fourth of the quran and its shortest chapter was equal to the chapter 'al-nasr' of the quran. sayyiduna dawud [peace be upon him ] used to recite it in 70 different styles. sayyiduna dawud [peace be upon him ] lived 589 years before sayyiduna musa [peace be upon him ] and 1800 years before sayyiduna muhammad [prayers and peace be upon him ].
