Feng-shui gives equal importance to time, space and action. so it is important to have a mix of the right action, in the right place at the right time to do well.
- The most important principal therefore are 'Earth luck', the energies that are present in your space and time and on which you have no contribution.
- The second is the 'Man luck', which are your own action and free will. this determines many opportunities can you actually utilize to your advantage.
- The third one is 'Heaven luck', which is your fate and destiny.
QI is a chinese word meaning ''flowing vital energy'' people, places and things absorb, store and emanate qi. the qi within feng-shui is invisible, but its effects are observable in the movements of the heavenly bodies as they define the passing of time, in the shapes of mountains and the placement of buildings, in all bodies of water form oceans to tiny ponds, and especially in the thoughts, emotions and health of humans.
Heaven [sky] qi is the energy that comes down from the sky. examples are the sun's ray granting warmth and light and the moon affecting ocean tides, life-granting rain falls down on us from above. but, anything excess is dangerous. the sun can cause drought or desserts, sun burns or skin tumors too much rain can cause floods, hurrienes, tornadoes, blizzards, coastal flooding and global warming are all sign of excesses or imbalance in the manifestation of heavenly qi.
Earth qi is the energy that is beneath the earth is the sufficient, less or more can be determined by that area's plantation, vegetation and wildlife. a healthy rain forest exhibits rich earth qi, as does a green luxuriant forest-even a backyard garden can benefit a home parks in busy crowded cities can be locations of healthy earth qi. this is one reason why people like to exercise in green places. ocean, rivers, lakes, ponds, and summing pools are part of earth qi. but because the water evaporates into the air they also affect heaven-sky qi.
To increase the efficiency of earth qi, mountains play a major role they can block and protect us from harsh weather, as their inner hidden area can offer a refuge from the pollution and bad energy of morden civilization. the presence of mountains tend to make people feel more secure, and they are usually beneficial to have in the environment but it is wrong to have the main entrance door of the place of residence directly face any mountains or tall building, without proper protective shielding.
The energy of feng-shui can be good [sheng qi], or weakening [si qi]. the tools and techniques of feng-shui deal with gathering and increasing shen qi and reducing, deflecting, or eliminating si and sha qi. let us see some details about these.

SHA QI :-
The word sha means ''evil''- as in misery, destruction, and ruin. sha qi moves rapidly along straight long lines and in pointed and angular forms. when this energy travels beneath the land it is called 'noxious way' and when it travel above the ground it is known as 'poison arrow'
Poison arrow is sha qi that attacks in straight lines. long straight o sharp structures that point to the front of a building can produce poison arrow. especially noxious is two highway that from a t-junction directly in font of the main entrance door to protect from this, have low fence, trees, hedges or gate to divert the direction of poison arrow.
Poison arrows can also be inside a house, coming from sharp, jagged, angular corners of walls or furniture. to reduce this effect, you can use fabrics on furniture or an artificial plant as obstruction.
