It is said that the main door should be constructed in a way that when you step out, you face the north, east or north-east direction.

Tips and tricks

• The main door to your home should be constructed with superior quality wood and should be the biggest and most beautiful among  all the other doors o your house.
• Always make sure that both the doors are not in a straight line, this is because it is not considered to be auspicious as it affects the direct flow of energy and vibration inside and outside the house.

• Avoid placing fountain, or any other decorative water-centric element, outside the main door.
• Avoid placing a shoe rack or dustbin outside the main door.
• There shouldn't be a bathroom near the main door.
• Ensure the main entrance is well lit.
• Avoid painting the main door black.

• Decorate your door with beautiful name plates and auspicious torans .
• Avoid placing animal statues or figurines near the main door.
• Ensure your main door open in clockwise manner.

• placing a doormat near the entrance of the door is quite fruit-bearing for it not only helps to keep dirt from entering the house, but also keep away the dark and negative energy.

• In terms of the material, use the wooden door. but if it is in the south direction, then a combination of wood and metal is considered great, similarly, metal work should be used for the south direction, majority of silver for north direction and an amalgamation of wood and metal accessories for the east direction.
• Make sure that the door does not creak and proper oiling is done whenever it is needed for it creates a negative impact. 

Vastu for entrance door

1. If the door is in the north or east direction, they you may be bestowed with a lot of good health, wealth and happiness.
2. If it is in the south, northeast or southeast, then it can make you very successful but with a lot of hard work.
3. If it is in the west direction, then it will provide peace and tranquility, which is why it will be great for readers, writers and artists in general.
4. If it is in the northwest direction, then it will provide you with the overall development.
5. If it is in the southwest direction, then it will throw a lot of negativity at you.

MAIN DOOR VASTU [DON'TS] 

1. It is highly advised to not place a mirror opposite to the main door as it may reflect the energy and vibrations.
2. One should use bright lights at the entrance of the main door but surely avoid using any red lights for the same.  
3. Although sticking god's idol or picture above door frame is considered auspicious in many religion it is best to avoid this on the main door as we knock on the door which is disrespecting to god. similarly, keeping saliya or foot print should be avoided as you tent to step on it.
4. The stairs in front of the main door should not be even number. 
5. One should not have their main door in the south, south-west, north-west or south-east direction.
6. Make sure that there is no door opposite to your main door.
